Westnet Public Safety Awarded Contract to Provide Fire Station Alerting System for Lawton Fire Department

Westnet Public Safety, a leading provider of advanced dispatch and alerting solutions for first responders, announced today that it has been awarded a contract to deliver and implement its Fire Station Alerting, Dispatch and Aircraft Emergency System for the Lawton Fire Department in Lawton, Oklahoma.
The new system will modernize how the department responds to emergencies by streamlining dispatch-to-station and air traffic control-to-station communications and accelerating turnout times. With Westnet’s technology, Lawton first responders will receive faster, clearer, and more reliable alerts—ensuring critical seconds are saved when responding to emergencies.
Westnet’s Alerting Systems are specifically designed with first responder health and safety in mind. Features include:
- Immediate station notifications from CAD (Computer-Aided Dispatch) or Air Traffic Control
- Zoned alerting to wake only the firefighters who need to respond, reducing sleep disruption
- Redundant communications to ensure reliability even during outages
- Customizable alerts that align with department needs and operational structure
This project is part of Lawton’s PROPEL-2040 proposal, which was voted on back in 2024, and would replace the city’s existing two-tone alert system, which provides no immediate feedback if an alarm fails to trigger.
